Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I find the town offices?
Most town offices are located in the Lincoln Town Hall on 148 Main Street. For detailed information on hours of operation, choose the office link in our Town Government section.
  • How do I register to vote?
You must be a full-time resident of Lincoln. You can either register to vote at an election or you can come to the Town Hall to register to vote. You will need your driver’s license or some form of photo identification. If you were not born in the United States, you will need to provide a copy of your naturalization papers and a form of photo identification.

  • How do I get a dog License?
Every owner of a dog that is at least four months old must license their dog each year at the Town Clerks office. The dog licensing year runs from May 1st to April 30th. You need to bring a copy of the current rabies shot, and certification of whether the dog has been spayed or neutered. Visit the Town Clerk/Tax Collector page for more information.
  • How do I pay my taxes?
Taxes can be paid through the mail or at any office of the Town of Lincoln. Payments are only allowed in the form of a check or cash.
  • How do I register my car?
To renew your registration, you must bring in your registration from last year. For new registrations, you would either need an ORIGINAL title, an application for title if purchased from a dealer, or a VIN verification and a bill of sale for vehicles that are fifteen years old or older. All payments must be in the form of cash or check. If you are paying by check, you will need two of them (one for the Town, the other for the State).
The Town Clerk will register motor vehicles, motorcycles, and trailers Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. Visit the Town Clerk/Tax Collector page for more information.
